It Is Real

Experience is Real -- Our Interpretation is Optional

The opportunity to look inside and then awaken to our balance emotional state, consider how the field of emotional energy is carried through your body.

During the balance of emotional offered by the Reiki Purification, you will possibly observe the movement into your body, affecting y our sleep, and giving interesting sources of energy and drive. Take note, be aware.

When the emotional body takes over, embrace it. SLOW DOWN, SLOW DOWN, SLOW DOWN.
And ground yourself in the moment to connect with the feelings and needs.

If you have any need to ask for help, do so. There are many right there in your space to empathize, explore solutions and celebrate your transition to peace.

Just for today, I will live the attitude of gratitude.
Just for today, I will not worry.
Just for today, I will not anger.
Just for today, I will do my work honestly.
Just for today, I will show love and respect for every living thing.

What Moves Us?

What moves us?

We have been seriously blessed with strong monastic allies from the Tibetan Buddhism Tradition. Many of you have felt the emotional devotion with the drawing and dissolution of Sand Mandalas, experienced moments of stillness with their chanting meditations, and sensed the power of transforming Puja ceremonies.

In August and September 2017, the Drepung Gomang Monk Tour added Santa Barbara community to its focus. It was a good time to prepare the community for what was to come. We also relished the Green Tara mandala orchestrated at the Masonic Lodge in SLO melding with ceremonies of solidarity with Charlottesville. During the total eclipse, Paso Robles was not obscured as the timely presence of Medicine Buddha aligned for a Peace week. Amidst the beginning of the school year, Cuesta College received teaching for Peace and Unity as they used the Mandala to cultivate an understanding of unity. And reflecting on insightful art and dialogue Alan Hancock College gave sanctuary for teachings of loving kindness.

While they came for us we now have our own opportunities to steep ourselves in the practices, bring clarity to our lives, and humbly address the gifts that we have been given from the Drepung Monks.

The extensive meditation teaching offered by Robert Sachs in the practice of Medicine Buddha is currently being offered @EarthTones . Meditation is a vessel to help shift your consciousness, dedicate your efforts (work, prayer, creativity) and bring a depth of healing to your journey. Each week, (Wednesdays at 6:30) he guides an understanding of the history and practice of the ancient work, the philosophy of curative power of the mind, and the capacity to build a true connection of your efforts with the profound energy field of loving kindness.

Warrior Poses: Empowerment Through Yoga

Life-long wellness is a goal most of us share. Included in your goals may be the ability to reduce emotional stress, improve self-esteem and ward off diseases.

Opening your mind by practicing Yoga is like learning the power of a mega computer that can manage each elements of your goal. One of the best groups of poses that build the capacity of your body to stand on your feet and pull through life are the Warrior poses.

From the physical level, I consider that the Warrior Asanas (Virabhadrasana I, II, III) help release our bodies from stress on the heart, bolster the immune system and balance the endocrine system. On the emotional level we build peace, tranquility and fortitude through the breathing practises (pranayama) while energizing the metabolism to manage cortisol and endorphin levels.

Focusing on warrior poses, we principally enhance circulation to strengthen masses of the body. We benefit by extending legs outwards while simultaneously opening the heart and strengthening the back. The back muscles are elongated and aligned with new precision and capacity for carrying the body through a full range of motion and emotion. The upper back and shoulders squeeze and extend providing a variety of benefits for the heart, circulatory system and overall build flexibility and build confidence. Overall, I consider these three poses as essential to reduce joint stiffness.

The great benefit of working with an instructor or researching yoga is the concept of modifying poses. With such an array of benefits you can slowly concentrate on smaller objectives to approach greater stability, strength, balance and flexibility. While the guidelines for joint placement are prescribed, each pose can be modified to establish targets for leg width, neck position, arm angle and overall flexibility. Remembering that as you progress you are increasingly bringing oxygenated blood to these areas.

As a whole, these weight bearing warrior poses bring about promised results. It is empowering to know that we can stimulate bones through the years and help to retain calcium and reduce stress.

Contact Mary Ueberax at EathTones Center for Healing in Central California for yoga instruction and embrace a Life-long practice, learn strategic modifications to poses and therapeutic use of props.

Fall 2017 Reiki 21-Day Purification Retreat

Dawn

Day 2
Use the spark of sunrise to enliven our path ahead

Sunrise can present a spot of hope of joy and a way to not delve into the known or unknown. Sunrise avoids the how to agenda and rigorous path by teaching us to move slowly and celebrate the mystery. It is a pause – one of gratitude and reverence.

At the beginning of the day is the true breath, pushing through slumber. The morning air brings the spirit of the breath and is precious, divine and something that awakens our senses for the day. The morning dawn energy gives us ozone exchanges like no other time and the molecules are energized and excited with the light. Connecting to this time, being outside, observing our senses helps us adapt with intuition throughout the day.

Use Pranayama practice, breathing techniques each morning. Start with five minutes. Allow yourself an upright posture. Breathe the air slowly in and release slowly. Then, connect the inhalation to gratitude for the day and the exhalation celebrate the gift of life. Afterwords conduct a light stretch.
